Job description

Randstad Digital is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer for a long-term, strategic assignment with one of our partners in Gothenburg. Our client is building a global Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution on Microsoft Azure, using a modern microservice-based architecture.

You will join a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that owns and operates a shared Azure platform. The goal is to deliver secure, observable, and scalable software products worldwide through fully automated CI/CD pipelines and reusable platform capabilities. This is a consultant assignment through Randstad Digital, offering a hybrid work policy with the flexibility of working from home two days per week, combined with collaboration at the office in central Gothenburg.

Responsibilities

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with Cloud Architects and global development teams to build the foundation of the platform. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep and Azure DevOps.
• Operating and evolving central Azure services, including networking, security, identity, and cost control.
• Developing and maintaining observability stacks such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and App Insights.
• Driving automation across deployment, scaling, compliance, and incident response.
• Supporting development teams in adopting platform capabilities and best practices according to a "You Build It, You Run It" culture.
• Mentoring junior engineers in Azure, IaC, and DevOps methodologies.

Qualifications

We are looking for a technical specialist with a strong background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, ideally in a SaaS/PaaS context.

• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and IaC tools like Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
• Strong background in CI/CD using Azure DevOps or similar automation tools.
• Deep understanding of Azure services: networking, RBAC, identity, and security policies.
• Experience with containerized workloads such as Azure Container Apps (ACA), AKS, and Docker.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF).
• Excellent communication skills in English.
