Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to play a critical role in evolving and modernizing on-premise infrastructure into a highly automated, scalable, and observable platform. The environment supports over 2,000 hardware setups used daily by engineers and developers, requiring robust, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions.

This role focuses on driving automation, enhancing observability, and implementing data center–level practices within a complex, hardware-intensive ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement automated infrastructure solutions for large-scale on-premise environments
• Develop and maintain standardized OS images for deployment across approximately 2,000 hardware systems
• Leverage Ansible to streamline configuration management, provisioning, and system lifecycle processes
• Enhance platform consistency through automation and reusable infrastructure patterns
• Design and maintain centralized logging and monitoring frameworks using Grafana, Loki, and Alloy
• Ensure effective collection, processing, and analysis of system logs and performance metrics
• Improve system transparency to enable efficient troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Build scalable observability pipelines that provide actionable insights
• Apply data center–inspired practices to ensure stability, scalability, and reproducibility of infrastructure
• Identify system inefficiencies, potential failure points, and automation opportunities proactively
• Maintain high availability and consistent performance across diverse hardware configurations
• Partner with software developers, test engineers, and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with platform needs
• Act as a senior technical expert, mentoring team members and promoting DevOps best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and infrastructure architecture
• Support a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence

Required Experience

• Extensive experience as a DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineer in complex environments
• Proven track record in managing large-scale automation using Ansible
• Experience in building and maintaining automated OS provisioning pipelines and unified system images
• Strong background in Linux systems and on-premise infrastructure management
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and system-level troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Grafana and centralized logging platforms (e.g., Loki, Alloy)
• Proficiency in scripting using Python and/or shell scripting

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
