Project Manager – BESS, EMS & Grid Integration

Location: Sweden

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and its integration with a Cloud Energy Management System (VEMS), Power Plant Controller (PPC), industrial networks, DSO and aggregator platforms.

You will take ownership of the project from requirements and design through implementation, testing, commissioning and final handover, working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, grid operators and other technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project from requirements through commissioning and handover.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, resources and technical interfaces.
• Coordinate BESS, VEMS, PPC, PCS/inverters, networks, cybersecurity, DSO and aggregator integration.
• Lead requirements management, technical reviews and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate testing including FAT, SAT, integration, grid-compliance, cybersecurity and performance testing.
• Manage DSO and aggregator interfaces, approvals and operational trials.
• Oversee industrial network architecture, VLANs, routing, firewalls, redundancy and secure remote access.
• Ensure complete documentation, training, configuration and operational handover.

We are looking for

• Proven experience managing complex power, automation or control-system projects.
• Experience with requirements management, verification, validation and technical interfaces.
• Practical knowledge of grid-connected BESS, EMS/PPC, PCS, metering and grid-support functions.
• Experience working with DSOs, TSOs, utilities, grid owners, aggregators or energy-market platforms.
• Experience with end-to-end testing involving cloud platforms, industrial networks and energy systems.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity, communication-loss behaviour, operating limits and power-control functions.
• Knowledge of flexibility, ancillary services, balancing or energy markets is a plus.

You will ensure that the complete BESS control and communication solution is safe, compliant, fully tested and ready for operation, with all requirements, approvals, documentation and handover activities successfully completed.
