For our client we're looking for a Test Lead of their new SPP software Development
Role Overview
The Smart Product Platform Test Lead is engaged on a time-bound basis to oversee the entire testing lifecycle of our new SPP software Development. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high quality testing activities for our solution involving PTC Windchill, Inventor and Creo. This role ensures that system functionality, integrations, and business processes are thoroughly validated, enabling a stable, compliant, and user-ready PLM solution.You will bring immediate hands-on expertise, working with minimal supervision to plan and facilitate the User Acceptance Tests and reduce risk to our PLM initiative.
Scope of Work
Define testing strategies, create test plans, assign tasks, manage risks, and report on quality metrics. Act as a leader focused on both technical testing excellence and team leadership, ensuring high-quality product delivery, including:
- Lead end-to-end testing activities for PTC Windchill implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
- Define and own the test strategy, test plans, schedules, and entry/exit criteria
- Manage system, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Coordinate testing across Windchill modules (e.g., PDMLink, MPMLink, ProjectLink) and integrations with ERP, CAD (Creo), or other enterprise systems
- Review and validate business and technical requirements to ensure test coverage
- Design, review, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data
- Lead defect management including triage, prioritisation, root-cause analysis, and retesting
- Communicate test progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Support UAT by guiding business users, managing test cycles, and ensuring signoff readiness
- Drive quality best practices and continuous improvement within the testing lifecycle
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Test Lead or Senior Test Analyst
- Hands-on experience testing PTC Windchill (configuration, workflows, lifecycle states, access control)
- Understanding of PLM business processes (Change Management, BOMs, Document Management)
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC (Agile and/or Waterfall)
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM)
- Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination skills
- Experience testing Windchill upgrades, migrations, or cloud deployments
- Exposure to CAD/PLM integrations (Inventor, Creo, SAP)
Desirable (Not Mandatory)
- Experience with Windchill upgrades or legacy-to-cloud PLM transitions
- Background in complex engineering or regulated environments
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification
- Automation testing experience for PLM systems
